Instead of using a large tank to store your hot water, this system stores the solar heat in your slab. This reduces the cost of the system and space needed for a large storage tank. The glycol and water mixture is pumped through the collectors and then through your radiant tubing. When the fluid is not hot enough to heat your home, your boiler or instant hot water heater provides necessary extra heat.

This system utilizes a large, 400 gallon storage tank to store your heat. The water from the tank is pumped up through the collectors and dumped back down into the tank. At night, the water is "Drained Down" from the collectors to prevent freezing, which means the collectors must be mounted above your tank. When you have used the available heat in your tank, an automatic valve directs the boiler to provide heat to your home. A large copper coil immersed in the tank allows your domestic hot water to be heated. An excellent system that provides back-up storage of heat for cloudy, cold days

Super insulated atmospheric pressure “drain-back” tanks are suitable for open or closed loop solar applications. No servicing is required except periodically checking the water in the water level inside the tank and to maintain a neutral PH for protectiopn of the copper heat exchangers. All components in the tank are easily accessible in the field by removing the lid. Tanks come with [2] installed sensors, Taco pump flanges and a finned-coil heat exchanger sized for 3/4” water lines. Tanks are available with additional heat exchangers in any size and configuration for solar hot water, spas, pools and radiant floors. Custom sizes and capacities available to over 1,200 gallons! Custom applications are available, including closed-loop solar applications.

SWIMMING POOL SYSTEMS

Swimming pool collectors are designed for outdoor pools which, in most of the country, are used six to nine months of the year. Pool collectors are normally made of polypropylene, a high temperature plastic that can consistently operate in the 200°F range. The collectors are black in color and should normally keep a pool in the 80°F range throughout the pool season. The same pump that filters the pool is used to circulate pool water through the collectors. A quick rule of thumb for pool design sizing is one square foot of collector surface area to every two square feet of pool surface area. You will need more collector surface area if your pool is left uncovered, especially in the spring and fall. Outdoor pool systems probably have one of the quickest returns on your investment of any solar energy equipment.

These are the largest hot water heaters we carry. Designed to deliver lots of hot water for houses with several bathrooms or radiant heating systems. Quality construction makes these a good investment. Temperature Remote Control allows you to adjust water temperature from 95 to 180 degrees. Also great to heat radiant floor systems!
