I started AC Solar, Inc. in 1991 and set out to share the joys of creating energy from sustainable technologies. There was no school to attend for alternative energy, I was in the classroom of experience. Each time a new customer's system was turned on ("More Power to the People!"), I had a sense of excitement and satisfaction.
Living remotely has given me the chance to develop my property with all the great sustainable products we sell - a 6000 gallon water capture system, DC pumps and a Bowjon windmill to supply my greenhouse and home. I've installed solar hot water and hot air systems to heat my guest cottage and barn. My solar powered golf cart allows me to cruise the property with no noise or fumes. And of course, several solar and wind systems to produce all our electricity.

My first experience with alternative energy was a cabin I rented that was powered by a 12-volt battery. It produced enough energy for lights and a small water pump. In 1998 I met Laurie at a seminar and let her know that I was very interested in becoming an installer for solar and wind energy products. Little did I know? It was in January of 1999 when she contacted me to help with an installation in the Four-Corners region. In below freezing weather and two feet of snow with the wind howling, four of us racked 14 Siemens 75 watt solar panels. That was my beginning. After five years of sales and installation, I'm as captivated as I was on my first day.
